Real Madrid star Gareth Bale features in the latest round of print and TV ads from BT Sport

The fresh ads – which feature Bale discussing the importance of making the right decision – will first aired during the weekend of the first World Cup knock out round.

The ads will focus on BT’s European football rights starting from August 2015 to try and pull in subscriptions, and taglines include ‘The European goalposts are moving’ and ‘Football is about making the right decisions’.

John Petter, BT Consumer CEO, said: “BT Sport is the home of European football and we are delighted to work with Gareth to reinforce this message.

“He is one of the world’s greatest players and having helped Real Madrid win the UEFA Champions League final this season, he knows what he is talking about.”

BT Sport signed a multi-year deal with Gareth Bale when he was still at Tottenham and they have to take advantage of having him on board. The fun fact is that BT is promoting European football with a star of the Spanish League, for which they don’t have any rights. It is then curious seeing how Gareth Bale announces European football and the brand shows images of the Premier League and the Bundesliga, but not from La Liga, where Bale plays for Real Madrid.
