Pelé scores yet another Golazo
Brazilian soccer legend Pelé has signed another endorsement deal ahead of the Fifa 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
This time, Pelé has partnered with Seattle-based energy drinks company Golazo. The Brazilian football legend will serve as a global brand ambassador for the all-natural sport drinks company, working to raise awareness of the Golazo Energy and Golazo Hydration products.
In celebration of the deal Golazo has launched a social media competition that gives fans the opportunity to win cases of their favourite Golazo drink, tickets to soccer matches and a shirt signed by the 73-year-old.
“I know the importance of making healthy choices to provide your body with the fuel to be the best you can be, both on and off the field,” said Pelé. “I am excited to partner with Golazo, a company that matches my conviction for natural and healthier products with my passion for the beautiful game.”
Richard Tait, the co- founder and chief executive of Golazo, added: “Golazo products are changing the rules in the traditional energy and sports hydration space, where incumbents are under increased scrutiny for artificial ingredients and sugar or sodium-laden formulas. The super goal is combining industry-leading functionality with phenomenal flavour, all from healthier Non-GMO ingredients; that’s the Golazo!”
Pelé joins international soccer players Will Johnson and DeAndre Yedlin in Golazo’s growing roster of brand ambassadors. The partnership and the different promotions and campaigns are actively announced via Twitter, as its common nowadays.
