Messi Experience Park

FC Barcelona star Lionel Messi will soon have the biggest football theme park in the world, which will be opened in China in 2020. The ambitious project, called Messi Experience Park, was launched in June by Mediapro in collaboration with the Phoenix Group and Leo Messi Management and they have recently unveiled more details about this impressive theme park that will be based in Nanjing, China.

Full details of the attractions are still sketchy, but amongst other features, the 80,000m2 park will have 20 different attractions, live performances, hotels and restaurants, robotic attractions with audiovisual productions, the newest technologies and even a metro station and a high-speed train link to Shanghai.

Expecting to receive upwards of 40 million visitors each year, the organizers said, “The project started as a museum, but over time, after seeing the ambition of the partners and the Nanjing authorities, we saw that we needed to make it for all ages. Young people don’t go to museums. They want other experiences and we are offering them that. Above all, on a level of interaction.”
