Samsung goes big with Messi and co.
Cristiano Ronaldo, Messi, Wayne Rooney and Falcao (among others) in the Galaxy11 team by Samsung
Samsung launched a spectacular football campaign a few months ago to promote the brand’s newest smartphone. The plot: Aliens have arrived and they’ve challenged us to a game of football. This is the hypothetical scenario, spectacularly depicted in the new all-star advert.
The world best players have been summoned to defend Earth as part of the Samsung Galaxy XI.
Lionel Messi is Captain Planet, stopped on his morning run in Barcelona by an entourage of blacked-out vehicles with the team’s manager, Franz Beckenbauer handing him the armband.
Cristiano Ronaldo is also invited to join the team and he cuts short a game of foot-volleyball in the video to accept his invitation.
And he is reunited in the team with Wayne Rooney, as the only English player in the line-up wildly.
‘It’s a great honour to be selected for the team alongside some of the world’s greatest football players,’ said Rooney.
The spectacular advertisement that was aired to launch the campaign can be seen below.
Now that the World Cup is getting closer, Samsung is unveiling new ads through all mediums and doing some great brand activation actions.
Different ads and billboards of the Galaxy XI players can be seen around and Samsung just launched a new and spectacular TV ad that can be seen below.
Samsung is doing a 360 degrees activation campaign that includes, of course, promotion of the brand in different social media platforms (like the example we can see below).
