Agüero, De Gea and co. introduce the blue card with Pepsi Max
Pepsi is one of those brands that can be easily associated with football by most fans. Not only the company sponsors the Champions League this year but Pepsi’s TV ads have been successfully using football stars for many years. We have seen the likes of David Beckham, Thierry Henry, Kaka, Messi or Ronaldinho (to name just a few) promoting Pepsi products and the strategy remains unchanged to date. Once again, Pepsi Max has recruited some of the top football players for a global campaign that will see it place emojis onto its packaging in an effort to win over younger drinkers.
The new Pepsi campaign gets together stars from the Premier League, Sergio Agüero, Vincent Kompany, Alexis Sanchez and David de Gea, and Real Madrid’s midfielder James Rodriguez.
This new advertising campaign will feature a number of commercials, the first one, which can be seen above these lines, was launched in February introducing the concept of the Blue Card, as opposed to the yellow and red card, which means that things are getting fun and exciting.
Pepsi is also releasing an innovative app in March 2016 that will connect the limited Edition Pepsi cans and bottles with the emojis, and will notify the customer if he has won a prize or not. The idea of the emojis in Pepsi’s cans and bottles, is to attract the interest and win younger consumers and that they can communicate between them through the more than 70 new emojis that they have created for the campaign.Sergio Agüero has started to share the good news with his fans on Twitter and Facebook.
