Premier League target Fernando signs new deal
Portuguese soccer player Fernando Francisco Reges has signed a boot deal with Warrior.
The Brazilian-born midfielder, who plies his trade for Portuguese Primeira Liga side FC Porto, will wear boots from the brand’s Skreamer range.
Fernando Reges commented: “Partnering with Warrior was an easy decision to make. The players are the heartbeat of Warrior Football and what makes this brand really unique is the way they work with those players as a team. Putting the team first is something I feel I’ve done throughout my career and that is why I think the partnership with Warrior will be a great one.”
Since Fernando signed for FC Porto in 2007, the club has won four Portuguese league titles, three Portuguese cup trophies, five SuperCup of Portugal trophies and the Europa League trophy. His defensive qualities and combative, tireless playing style have seen him nicknamed ‘the octopus’.
Ben Haworth, the global sports marketing manager for Warrior Football, added: “It’s no surprise Fernando Reges is being courted by some of the biggest clubs in the world. He’s a fearless player and has a wonderful ability of mixing a no-nonsense approach to the game with true Brazilian flair. Midfielders who are up against Fernando Reges know they’ll be in for a battle against a real warrior.”
Earlier this week the Warren, Michigan-based company confirmed that it will succeed Adidas as the kit supplier of Premier League side Stoke City at the end of the 2013-14 season.
Fernando Reges joins the likes of Vincent Kompany, Marouane Fellaini and Kolo Toure in Warrior’s stable of soccer endorsers.
