Lucas Silva joins Real Madrid

Prime Time Sport’s player Lucas Silva was presented as Real Madrid’s newest player last Monday. The Santiago Bernabéu’s presidential box welcomed the Brazilian midfielder, who will wear the number 16 jersey.  Following a video showcasing the highlights of his career to date, Florentino Pérez welcomed him: “Your spirit, dedication and enthusiasm will make us even stronger. What’s more, you have come here at a very important stage of the season”.

“The search for talent, quality and sacrifice has resulted in the addition to the team of a player with huge potential for the present and the future, and who is from a country where football is a religion. One of Brazil’s best midfielders joins us today and he is eager to get going”.

“Thank you for sharing your dreams. Today you begin your new life as a Real Madrid player. I know that being here was your big dream and that brings us great satisfaction. Lucas Silva, from today on this is your new home. Welcome to Real Madrid”.

The midfielder uttered his first words as a Real Madrid player: “I am delighted to be here. I thank God, the Cruzeiro and Real Madrid presidents and everyone who helped make this happen. I am really happy and motivated. I’ve come to Real Madrid to learn and above all else to help. This is a dream come true”.

“I feel good and am ready to honour this shirt, which belongs to the best club in the world. I’ve liked Real Madrid ever since I was a child, I’m really happy to be in the city and I’m certain that I will live very well here. Thank you and Hala Madrid!”.

The ceremony concluded with a group photograph with the White’s newest signing alongside Florentino Pérez and the rest of the board members. Lucas Silva was also given a standing ovation by the supporters who made their way to the stands to welcome him.
