French star Zinédine Zidane has been the global ambassador of the Danone Nations Cup for the last 5 years and in this year’s edition, Zidane encourages kids to “Believe in their dreams” as he features in the recently launched promotional advertisement. Yet another example of how former players or managers can also be very appealing to the general audience and attract consumers and fans. Players that were utterly popular like Zinédine Zidane or David Beckham are still a preferred choice for some brands because they can cover a different target market and allow the brand to associate with unique values such as consistency, hard-work or wisdom.
