Brazil star Neymar Jr. visited Japan to film an advert for Nishikawa Sangyo
Neymar Jr, who was recovering from an injury he suffered on his back during Brazil’s World Cup quarter-final victory over Colombia, visited Japan for a promotional event with the Japanese brand Nishikawa Sangyo (mattress producers) and he also appeared on a number of television shows during the trip.
As other players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale or Kun Aguero have done recently, Neymar Jr. visited his Asian fans and was met on his arrival by huge crowds. Asia is a market that appreciates football stars and where on site appearances work very well for brands and it’s been proven an effective marketing tool for them.
In fact, such was the clamor to meet the Barcelona star that the airport barrier was broken by the surging Japanese fans.
Nishikawa Sangyo Co. said that the Brazilian soccer superstar Neymar da Silva Santos Jr. will appear in an advertisement for its mattresses developed for athletes, the three-layer mattress “AiR”. He visited Japan for 3 days while attending different events and taking part in commercial activities. He hold a news conference where he spoke about his injury and about the upcoming season.
“AiR” commercials will also feature Masahiro Tanaka, a Japanese professional baseball pitcher for the New York Yankees.
Neymar‘s visit to Japan allowed him to make his Asian fans happy and provided some great media exposure for the brand that organized the event. The content of the press conference and the different events was used by some of the most important media not only in Japan but also in Spain.
