Kaká is already monetizing his presence in the US
Brazilian football player Kaká has signed an endorsement deal with American dietary supplements company Midway Labs.
Kaká’s presence in the United States is already bringing him commercial success and the 32-year-old midfielder, who will captain Orlando City SC in their debut season in Major League Soccer (MLS) in 2015, will debut a line of Midway products that bears his name set for launch later this year. Kaká Sports Edition will initially have 42 different products, like Whey Protein (see picture above)
According to Maquina do Esporte, Kaká will not receive fixed pay under the terms of the agreement, but will instead receive a percentage in line with sales.
Kaká said: “Midway Labs was the company I found a possibility to exchange common values, to transmit these values together to improve the quality of people’s lives with the use of dietary supplements. I would like people, even those who are not professional athletes, to understand they can take advantage of this benefit.”
Kaká was announced as the first designated player for new MLS franchise Orlando City in July 2014, with the player joining from Italian giants AC Milan, and will join an exciting and competitive edition of the MLS with new players like Frank Lampard, David Villa or Steven Gerrard.
